Bed Bugs (Cimex lectularius) are 4-5mm when adult, but will start off as nymphs about the size of a pin head. Yellow/brown in colour turning a mahogany colour after feeding. Wingless, flattened oval bodies,three segmented folding proboscis used for feeding on their host. Bed bugs can survive months without a host to feed from. How to Identify Bed Bugs

  • Black spotting on bed frame and sheets
  • Eggs (approx 1mm)
  • Nymph skins (shed skin cases)
  • Bites on host (not always present depending on allergic response) typically in clusters of 3.
  • Blood spots on sheets
  • Almond like smell in heavily infested rooms
