“Carpet moths” is the name most people use for clothes moths damaging carpets and rugs. The case-bearing clothes moth is common here: its larvae carry a small silk case as they feed, often under furniture and along skirting boards.
Pantry moths, such as the Indian meal moth, have two-tone wings and infest stored food like flour, cereals, rice and bird seed rather than fabrics.
